Valparai is beautiful hill station located in the sections of Anamalai wildlife sanctuary. Most sought out route by the tourists is the forest path from Chalakkudy that goes through the Athirappilly and Vazhachal waterfalls. The condition of this path is little rough.
Tourists goes to Valparai to see the mist and enjoy the beauty of hill station and forest. Aliyar is a near by Dam built by Tamilnadu to cater the water needs of nearby villages.
